Cushendun has a beautiful sandy beach, fringed by woodland, set against a backdrop of mountains. This provides the perfect environment for a variety of holiday activities. Boating, fishing, golf and horse-riding are among the facilities available locally.

There are several excellent pubs and restaurants in the local area that are open all year-round.

For the more energetic the North Coast offers excellent walking along a network of country roads and lanes or in forest parks. Seaside Cottages also make an ideal base for touring the Glens of Antrim, the North Coast, Rathlin and the world famous Giant’s Causeway.

Cushendun is full of natural beauty and steeped in history. The heart of the village was designed by the famous architect Clough Williams Ellis and The Square and Maud Cottages have a distinctive Cornish influence in their design.  Glenmona Lodge and Rockport Lodge, both Georgian style houses, have had famous residents such as John Masefield, Louis MacNeice and Moira O’Neill. The ruin of Carra Castle is where in 1567 the feud between the O’Neill and Mac Donald clans finally ended with the beheading of Shane O’Neill.
